Pricey vs Priceline: Heat Protection Spray

by Madeleine Borgersen

To protect your hair from that curling iron, or a full day in the sun, a good heat protection spray is a must-have in your Summer beauty bag. Here are two of our favourites!

Pricey vs Priceline: Heat Protection Spray

Pricey: Bumble & Bumble – Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil – Heat/UV Protective Primer – $35

The new Hairdresser Invisible Oil range from Bumble & Bumble is fast gaining a cult following. The Primer in the range is a multi-tasking wonder; detangling, de-frizzing, taming and protecting your hair from UV damage and the heat from styling tools.

Featuring the invisible oil as one of the main ingredients it’s the perfect light-weight solution for lasses with finer hair or those that just don’t want to be bogged down with multiple styling products.

With the same gorgeous smell as the rest of the range it’s a one-hit wonder for anyone looking for a do-it-all product to help them get out of the house in the morning with beautifully lush locks.

Priceline: De Lorenzo – Elements Extinguish – Thermal Protection Spray – $18.95

Designed for one thing, to minimise hair damage from heated styling tools the De Lorenzo Protection Spray contains organic ingredients such as Australian desert raisin to protect your locks from heat and UV damage and goji berry for conditioning and nourishment.

With a light holding factor it also helps to smooth hair and tame flyaways, much like it’s pricier counterpart.

The smell is gorgeous, yet less tropically, and it’s definitely a great, wallet-friendly buy.

The Verdict:

I love the Bumble & Bumble Primer but I was definitely surprised by the De Lorenzo! For the price it is an amazing heat protector. It doesn’t leave your hair feeling crunchy, rather leaving your locks nourished and soft.

For true Bumble & Bumble fans, definitely try out the new range as it is fantastic but for those just looking for a great product for a lower price, you cannot beat the cheaper De Lorenzo!

  1. I have the De Lorenzo spray but I definitely think I’m going to purchase the Bumble & Bumble spray as the De Lorenzo doesn’t really add much nourishment to your hair, and I always have to use something with it. It’s still amazing though!

  2. Luckily for me I can’t straighten or use heat on my hair very often. It is just too time consuming when you have as much hair as me, but when I do use heat I would love a product to protect my hair. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Heat Protection spray is something I don’t use that I should, Thanks for the compare, may have to check out that de lorenzo one. Loving all your pricey vs Priceline posts by the way, always informative and great to help find budget products that do high end jobs.
