Making a Mark: Facial Masks

by Madeleine Borgersen

Facial Masks are generally cotton or fibre sheets that are pre-cut into the shape of your face (neck, decollatage, hands or feet too!) and soaked in a serum like cocktail of ingredients perfect for a mid-week pamper!

Why are they fantastic? Whilst the mask is placed onto your skin, the skin is also still able to properly breathe, naturally soaking in the ingredients for a deeper absorption. The masks are pre-soaked evenly and allow far less bacteria to enter the skin.

Originating heavily in the Asian beauty market you can find just about any ingredient in a face mask from SK-II’s cult favourite Pitera to Snail Mucus or Caviar.

If you haven’t got an Asian beauty store close by for a bit of a gamble here’s three we absolutely love that you can pick up at David Jones, Chemist Warehouse and Priceline.
