Pricey vs Priceline

Pricey vs Priceline: Contour Kits

by Madeleine Borgersen

Looking to get those cheeks chiseled and that nose straightened all with a little bit of powder? We’ve compared the two top contour kits; one pricey another priceline to help you decide where to spend that cash!

Pricey vs Priceline: Contour Kits

Pricey: Anastasia Beverly Hills – Contour Kit – $85

Coming in two different shade patterns Light to Medium and Medium to Dark the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit is high on the cult list. Adored by the contour queens themselves, the Kardashians, the 6 shade kits are everything a girl could need to sculpt and highlight that face to perfection.

Three super blendable highlighting shades and three shading make up the kit with the packaging itself being refillable with individual colour when you need it.

Priceline: Australis – AC ON TOUR Contour Kit – $16.95

Mimicing the Anastasia Contour Kit, the Australis AC ON TOUR Kit contains 6 powder shades to contour and highlight. Highly pigmented, a little goes a long way with the Australis Contour Kit meaning it will last you forever.

Perfect for beginners, the Australis Contour Kit also includes instructional images on the back to take you to pro in no time!

The Verdict:

In our opinion a contour kit is an investment piece, especially when you can just purchase the new inserts as you need them. Australis does have a very tempting pricetag but we’d recommend saving your pennies and putting that $16.95 towards the Anastasia for the best product out there.

Not only can you use up one shade you love to your heart’s content with their individual shade pans for sale to replace it but it’s also better suited to a wider range of skin tones with their two shade ranges.

The colours are more blendable and a more realistic shade for contouring. What’s more to love?

I’m so glad you reviewed these products! I’m keen to give the contouring a go but need to invest in some tools. I’ll have to test these ones out to see how the colours are on my skin to see which one I go with 🙂

  3. I’ve been watching so many contouring tutorials on YouTube that I think I’m ready to finally take the plunge. Anastasia here I come!

I personally loved the Australis one, although I have yet to try the Anastasia Beverley Hills one. I’m a bit concerned that, as this isn’t something I’ll use every single day, it might not be worth the pennies. If only the Anastasia one was easier to buy in Aus, that way we could try before we buy! xx

The AC contour & highlight kit quashed any desires for me to pick up the Anastasia kit. It also made me realise I don’t actually like the look of contour on myself lol
