Pricey vs Priceline: Antioxidant Berry Serums

by Madeleine Borgersen

Looking for a serum that will nourish and plump up any fine lines, brighten your skin tone and protect you from environmental factors like the sun, wind or even air con? We’ve found two that perfectly fit the bill!

Pricey vs Priceline: Antioxidant Berry Serums

Pricey: CR Formulations – Berry Boost Serum – $89

CR Formulations is a Sydney based company specialising in the medicinal qualities of natural ingredients. Their Berry Boost is an oil-based serum full of moisturising fruit oils that hydrate and protect the skin.

Antioxidant rich berries such as cranberry, raspberry and goji berry as well as kiwi seed and blackcurrant protect your skin against the harsh environmental factors that cause damage like the sun, wind and even your office air-conditioning.

Keeping that gorgeous youthful glow to your skin the CR Formulations Berry Boost is a fine line and wrinkle buster and can be used to nourish and repair both your skin and hair. The perfect all rounder!

Priceline: Antipodes – Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum – $54.50

Super packed with the antioxidant benefits of berries, the Antipodes new Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum is the perfect protector for your skin year round. Packed with B Vitamins, Folic Acid, Copper and Iron the Raspberry filled super serum is the perfect daily armour to keep that skin safe.

Vitamin C rich Raspberry Water is the top ingredient in the Antipodes Worship Superfruit Serum packing a brightening and plumping hit. A natural protection against the sun’s rays they reduce age spots and disclouration and plump fine lines. With 6 x more Vitamin C than oranges, raspberry’s are a dark horse when it comes to natural skin superfoods.

With hits of coffee berry and an essential fatty acid known as Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) it’s a super nourishing serum that covers everything with it’s anti-aging properties, hydration factor and ability to fight oxidative stress.

The Verdict:

A tough one this week as both are beautiful but in very different ways.

The CR Formulations has gorgeous, classic packaging that would look amazing on any vanity. It’s oil based and nourishing from the moment it hits your skin and leaves a subtle glow to the skin as it soaks in, visually adding fullness and life to the skin. I also love that as it’s a light oil, I can use it on my cuticles, hair or dry patches if I needed to too!

The Antipodes, being water based, is thinner. It’s a darker colour due to the raspberry water and the smell is less noticeable than the CR Formulations. It also soaks into the skin quicker, perfect for a morning product.

What was my experience? Personally my combination and highly pigmented skin took better to the CR Formulations’ oil-based serum. It gave it the hydration and nourishment it needed so it’s a winner for me this week but for gals that prefer a lighter, more lightly scented, water based fix to their antioxidant needs the new Antipodes is a definite must try.

Great post – love these comparison posts although I must admit I just use Bio-Oil – it’s lovely and silky and very very inexpensive – hopefully I won’t look like an old hag in 10 years 🙂
