Open for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week Cuckoo Callay is situated in the concourse outside of Newtown station. Don’t worry, it’s definitely not just another station cafe!
Serving delicious drinks and meals for both two and four legged creatures, the menu offers scrumptious and quirky treats like the #Hashtag Browns 2.0 – bubble and squeak hashbrown, pea puree, marinated avocado, poached egg and your choice of bacon, haloumi or house cured salmon it is breakfast on steroids.
For those brave enough the Berets, Stars and Stripes will take you to Wonderland and back with Brioche French Toast, Maple Bacon, Whipped Ricotta, Cornflakes and Maple Syrup oh and a generous smear of Peanut Caramel that needs to be jarred and sold immediately.
The lunch menu lets the good times roll with pulled duck, a mean reuben and the (I quote!) ‘Best. Chips. Ever.’
With a full beverage menu from a coffee bar, huge tea selection, cocktails (or cuckootails as they’re known here!), beer, wine and nutella milkshakes (!) there’s something for absolutely everyone.
Four legged friends are welcome in the outdoor seating and can be treated to a Pupacino or Pupple – a maple bacon dog treat that Wilma is currently salivating over.
The staff are not only extremely talented but super friendly and attentive. We think we may have just found the best brekkie in the inner west. O frabjous day indeed!
