Witness The Wonder of Nature at Stoneleigh No.50

by Madeleine Borgersen

Inspired by the Stoneleigh vineyard, nestled in the sunstone region of the Rapaura Valley in Marlborough, New Zealand, Stoneleigh No.50 is a historical, terrace house in Sydney’s CBD.

Stoneleigh No.50

Stoneleigh No.50 is a world of wonder, with each room of the historical terrace representing the characteristics of Stoneleigh’s elegant and crisp wines.

Each room has been taken over by nature; wild vines, enveloping flowers and edible mushrooms. Stoneleigh No.50 is an exciting and limited experience to learn about the unique range of Stoneleigh wines in an interactive and enthralling experience.

More similar to an Alice in Wonderland adventure than a traditional wine-tasting, Stoneleigh No.50 let’s nature do the talking, with each of the styled rooms portraying key characteristics of the vineyard’s elegant, crisp and beautifully wild wines.

Stoneleigh No.50

The Wonder of Nature has engulfed the terrace providing the perfect setting for a wine tasting with a difference.

Hosting a number of VIP, curated events alongside Vice, Mitchell Orr of ACME and FBi, the quirky terrace will also offer wine tastings each Wednesday and Thursday from November 3-19, offering wine lovers a chance to peek inside and experience the world of Stoneleigh themselves.

The Stoneleigh vineyard and wines are unique. Established on an ancient river bed in the Rapaura Valley in Marlborough, New Zealand, the grape-filled vines grow atop of Stoneleigh’s unique ‘sunstones’. Large, flat stones that lay at the base of Stoneleigh’s vines, retain the day’s heat and warm the grapes through the cooler evenings providing a more consistent environment leading to fruit that is bursting with flavour.

Stoneleigh No. 50

The rich and earthy Stoneleigh Pinot Noir is brought to life at Stoneleigh No.50 with edible soil and mushrooms. Move aside, Willie Wonka!

From their signature, crisp and passionfruit-filled Sauvignon Blanc, to the earthy, yet light Pinot Noir, the range of Stoneleigh wines are winners for any event. From a sneaky red with dinner through the week, to a bottle to share with friends on the weekend, the range of Stoneleigh wines, from the consistent signature label (say so long to loving one vintage and disliking the next!) to their wild and wonderful Wild Valley range (our personal pick!) the ranges are available from all good liquor stores throughout Australia.

This post and the accompanying giveaway is in collaboration with Stoneleigh Wines. Enjoy!

The world thrives with natural beauty and thus no moment or space can truly define my favour way to enjoy the nature of this realm. It is travelling to foreign gems that makes me feel at home, the local beaches crashing waves proving the world is my own. It is adventure at the highest peaks and daring the move those mountains into valleys of knowledge we seek. It is alone and shared with friends, my search for my favourite spot will never end! Either VIP nights would be splendid!! ?

  2. My favourite way to enjoy nature is from a safe distance! Maybe a David Attenborough doco on the couch, enjoying the beauty and terror second hand – with cheese & wine within reach of course! I love getting outdoors, but I’m that person who always ends up with a bite, or an allergic reaction, or a busted achilles just because I dared walk on sand… it’s much safer from my couch! Or – from Stoneleigh No.50 😉 I’d love to go to the VIP event with Mitchell Ore. Fingers crossed, and thanks for the chance x

I love sipping a crisp Rosé and nibbling on some delectable delights in the sunshine overlooking Maroubra beach. Watching the dolphins and whales meander by is nothing short of extraordinary. I would love tickets to the VIP event with Mitchell Orr. x

my favourite way to enjoy nature is waking though all the erskineville laneways during jacaranda season – it is my most favourite time of year because it is that beautiful (it also helps that all my favourite bars are near there and I can wine time post stroll) and I would loveeee to attend the FBI event x x

Mitchell Orr is 2010 winner of Young Chef of the Year. He is funky and
to taste his canapes would be a great experience I would love to win. It
would be like having a taste of the future.
I enjoy nature by relaxing and ‘Wine’ down to some DJ beats and vinos in
the newest and coolest wine venue in Sydney. What better way to spend
a night! Love Winehouse. I would like to win any. Not too fussy.

My favourite way to enjoy nature is to go hiking through the Blue Mountains – there’s so much variety of flora and fauna due to the changing altitude, and it’s an escape from the ‘real world’ in the city.

Stoneleigh No.50 looks exactly the same, which is why I’d love to go – the house has been transformed into a surreal fairy grotto, as far removed from the ‘real world’ as hiking in the bush. Plus, there’s the added benefit of wine! I could attend on both November 16th and 27th.

My favourite way to enjoy nature is going for walk along the beaches and taking in the beautiful sun rays. You never know who you might meet as well. I met Evie from Home and Away last week. Walking along the beach wearing no shoes, to take in the sand and nature and listening to the waves crashing. Then at the end of the day sitting back with some nice wine and oysters. I would prefer the VIP Fbi Closing Party. Thanks

My favourite way to enjoy nature is to sit on the beach overlooking the water, listening to the waves crash with a chilled glass of wine in hand. I would prefer november 16. Fingers crossed.

Living in suburbia, near a bunch of parks, I get to just sit around in my yard, watching my newly adopted dog chase birds. Maybe with a cigarette in one hand, maybe just getting some fresh air, but yard time is happy time.
