When we saw these videos we had to try it out on Eivind (my partner in life and crime who rocks a pretty sick hipster ‘do!)
Although he didn’t trust me with the clippers (fair enough, I was nursing a vino at the time!) he did offer to lend his services to try out the two hipster hair products produced by evo Gangsta Grip Bonding Resin ($26.95) and Casual Act Moulding Paste ($29.95).
He was pessimistic towards the Gangsta Gel to begin with, having always hated the stickiness of most gels and opting for moulding pastes like Kevin Murphy’s and American Crew’s whilst he grew out his hipster do. Luckily (for me) he was pleasantly surprised (read: Amazed!) at the evo hipster hair products on offer.
The Gangsta Grip gel not only set hard (not sticky!) it also maintained that slick, wet look all day.
If you’re not into a bowling ball look, never fear, the evo Casual Act Moulding Paste is your go-to. It will still spoil you with super texture and hold but is a lot more subtle leaving the hair with a natural, matte finish.
Eivind has thick, unruly hair so he actually combines both, the paste and then the gel to set it for the day. It’s the first product combo he’s found to even take on his helmet (he’s a bit of a cyclist!) and it had enough guts to hold it back in his rockabilly do all day.
If you’re on the lookout for some products to spoil a top man in your life or are sick of your hipsters stealing all of your hair bands because they don’t have any decent products definitely grab some evo!
