Pricey vs Priceline: Creamy Concealer Kit

by Madeleine Borgersen

Creamy Concealer Kits are a great way to truly cover dark under eye circles. With a peach colour to colour correct and a skin colour to conceal, they are ninja’s against elusive eye baggage.

Pricey vs Priceline: Creamy Concealer Kit

Creamy concealer kits are a perfect small kit for anyone wanting to cover dark under eye circles.

They come with two colours, one with a peachy tone, to colour correct the blue toned dark circle, and a skin coloured tone to go over the peach to bring you back to your normal skin tone.

Two steps but definitely the best result for anyone with very blue toned circles under their eyes.

These two creamy concealer kits are a wonderful compact size that are perfect for your travel makeup bag or handbag if you’re one that needs concealer touchups throughout the day.

Pricey: Bobbi Brown – Creamy Concealer Kit – $54

The Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit is amazing. It’s super blendable and comes in a stack of colour options so you can definitely find the perfect shade for you.

The staying power of creamy concealer kits are not the best due to the creamy texture of the product, so make sure you set the under eye area with powder after you’ve applied your concealer to get the best results.

Priceline: Essense –Match2Cover Cream Concealer – $4.50

The Essence Creamy Concealer Kit is literally less than 10% of the price.

It offers the same peach and skin toned duo. It does however only come in two colour options, soft and natural beige. You would still be able to use this product if you’re more tanned (as a lighter concealer colour under the eyes is a good thing, it brightens!) but if you have a darker skin tone or alternatively are very pale this product might not be the right choice for you.

Just like the Bobbi Brown the staying power can let you down if you don’t properly set the area.

The Verdict:

If you have a mid-toned complexion go for the Essence. It’s a fraction of the price and has the same pros and cons as the Bobbi Brown. If you’re darker or lighter toned I still recommend going for the Essence first as a cheaper test point to see if you like the consistency and result of the creamy concealer kits.

What a bargain I absolutely love bobbi brown concealers (so expensive though) but they don’t crease under the eye. I wonder what the essence one is like! x

I didn’t like the Essence one! I found the texture a little to slippery and almost greasy. Plus it was too dark for me.. Such a shame because it would’ve been amazing if it worked.

    • Oh really? I found them both quite movable or slippery but I just use powder at the end as I do usually and that kept it still for the day. I have combination skin so might work a bit better on me. Have you tried the BB?
