Coming in six different shades to suit your skin tone to a tee (I personally wear No. 1!) the hourglass lip stylo’s are the bomb. A high class, Chanel kind of bomb.
The packaging is perfect for a clutch or handbag and with the pointed almost crayon-like tip they’re a synch to pucker up with in any environment.
Hourglass’ Lip Stylos have a matte finish that many love. They’re packed with lanolin and seed oil though to prevent those lips from lacking in lustre.
Coming in six very varied shades this can truly be a nude lip for any skin tone. From the super light (and popular Sultry Sand) to a Jamaican Goddess’ dream Naked Brown, each colour is perfectly pigmented.
I wear Tantalizing Taupe, the second lightest in the bunch for a ‘my lips but better’ wash of colour. Saturated with natural pigments and no fillers the colour with these lasts for ages.
The Maybelline is more of of a neutral between not quite high-shine and not quite matte, which I love. It adds some bounce to the lips without looking like a twelve year old girl that just bought her first lipgloss.
For ease to find and price, it’s definitely the Maybelline winning out today. I also found the Maybelline to be more moisturising. Both contain oils such as lanolin to retain moisture but I found after a day of wearing both my lips felt better with the priceline option.
I do love the packaging on the Hourglass and it is a fantastic lipstick, I’m just not sure with the pricetag and the inconvenience of finding it it will become a staple. Maybe when Sephora arrives in Sydney?
