NYFW16 Beauty Report: Victoria Beckham

by Carla Horvath

Billowy silhouettes paired with high-waisted trousers and cut-outs, my girl VB has done it again.

“This season my inspiration was all about reinterpretation – taking some of my most loved pieces and giving them a twist. Bringing them back to life in a different way.”

The makeup:

“Normally for this show we do little makeup, it’s always about the skin, but this time Victoria wanted something more. So in the end we ended we actually created three very distinct looks – all with a very natural and healthy looking skin base, but then we either really ramped up the lips or added splashes of gorgeous color to the lids for a very simple, but dramatic and gorgeous look. Applying the mascara on the roots then sparingly on the tips of lashes finished the look perfectly with a defined lash line that complemented the lips and lid color perfectly.”

Pat McGrath, Max Factor Cosmetics Global Creative Director

Pat used the newest releases from Max Factor, Voluptuous False Lash Effect Mascara and the Marilyn Monroe Lipstick collection, to create what has quickly become one of the most talked about beauty looks from the New York fashion calendar.

The hair:

“An elevated, modern version of a simple style that women really want to wear. It’s polished but there’s also a genuine sense of ease to it too.”

Guido Palau for ghd

Guido using the ghd air hairdryer and his fingertips to blow-dry hair back from models’ faces to create a clean, frizz-free hairline, securing it in a low pony at the nape of the neck with elastic.

To create the minimal loose movement in the ponytail, he then loosely ‘bent’ sections of hair around the ghd curve. Finishing the look with hairspray to the hairline to complete the style and achieve a glossy look.
