Pricey vs Priceline: Black Eyeliner Kohl Pencils

by Madeleine Borgersen

A good black eyeliner kohl pencil is a staple in any makeup kit. One that is smooth to apply, black as the night’s sky and doesn’t turn you into Kung Fu Panda by the time you finish your breakfast. Here are our favourites!

Pricey vs Priceline: Black Eyeliner Kohl Pencils

Pricey: By Terry – Crayon Kohl Terrybly – $44.60

Like most things in the By Terry collection their eyeliner kohls are amazing. Smooth to apply (meaning zero irritation or tugging on your sensitive eyelids) and with the staying power of concrete the Terrybly liners are the bomb.

Smudge out or leave precise whichever way you choose to wear it the By Terry crayon kohl eyeliners are opaque and fierce.

Packed with a custom sharpener to keep the pencil precise through it’s entire life it’s the perfect pick for those wanting zero fuss.

Priceline: Models Prefer – Infinite Colour Eye Pencil – $9.99

Another gorgeously creamy eyeliner kohl the Models Prefer Infinite Colour Eye Pencils go on a dream.

Waterproof and smudge proof to an extent this baby will keep those eyes defined from dawn to dusk.

The Verdict:

This week’s pick is the pricier By Terry. When it comes to eyeliner kohl’s you get what you pay for in terms of staying power and colour payoff.

The Models Prefer is the perfect pick for those that love eyeliner on their upper or lower lash line but for those wanting a bolder eyeliner look such as a cat eye or smokey finish, the By Terry will give you the best result.

What’s your favourite eyeliner? Have you tried either of these brands?

  1. How do you rate these two vs the Benefit They’re Real Liner, MB?

For me they’re totally different things. I’d use the Benefit gel eyeliner for a cat eye look for sure but these are more brought out when I want a more subtle smokey effect or for lining my waterline.. I find a reason to have all the products haha!

Do you have a favourite gel eyeliner, Madeleine? I’m up for a new one and whilst I am happy with my Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner in a pot, I would be open to trying something new and perhaps not so pricey.
