Ditch that dry skin by gently exfoliating the lips. You could use a soft bristled toothbrush, an at home brown sugar recipe or grab one of our favourite lip scrubs by Sara Happ.
2. Protect During the Day
Just like our skin everywhere else our lips need to be protected from UV. Cancer Council Australia‘s ($14.95) range of moisturising lipsticks are a perfect pick during the day offering SPF 30, moisture and coming in a range of great colours.
Clarins Daily Energerizer Lovely Lip Balms ($25) are new to the market this winter too with organic cocoa butter and shea oil. They’re super nourishing giving you a slight plumping effect with organic redberry extract and a perfectly unique pink tone that reacts with the pH of your lips.
Wanting something without the colour? Try Mecca’s Lip De-Luscious ($28) with SPF 25 or for a cheapie you can’t go past Carmex’s Jasmine Green Tea Moisturising Lip Balm ($4.99) or Vaseline’s Lip Therapy both with SPF 15.
3. Nourish at Night
Stock that night stand with some ultra nourishing lip loves like Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream Nourishing Lip Balm ($25) (this baby has SPF too so great if you want just one product day and night!) or Clinique’s Superbalm Lip Treatment ($24).
4. Cold sores Clear Away
Nothing ruins a good lip day than a cold sore and apparently over 75% of Aussies get them. Kick them to the curb with a good lip treatment like ViraproX ($6.25) that has SPF30, moisturises and keeps cold sores away.
5. Keep it Fun
The trick with smooth, healthy lips is consistency! Add some flavour to your lip balm to take you back to your highschool days where you were applying those Lip Smackers like Coles had a sale on.
Lanolips ($15.95) has a great range of super nourishing lip balms in a range of flavours for those wanting a little extra pop!
