The BookLook: Man Repeller by Leandra Medine

by Gemma Pearson

If you don’t already follow the world of Man Repeller, maybe today is the day to start. Trust me, you’ll never again question whether or not you can style-out some culottes with your clogs and an over-sized sweatshirt. (The answer is always yes, by the way).

The BookLook: Man Repeller by Leandra Medine

Self-named due to a proposed connection between experimental attire and her lack of a significant other, Man Repeller (otherwise known as Leandra Medine) has made her name being fun and fearless in the face of fashion.

With a penchant for a generous shirt, insanely wide-legged pants, neckerchief and a blazer, she is always immaculately put together and never, ever apologetic.

She has made the well-draped leap from fashion blogger to influencer and collaborator, so it was only a matter of time that we got to read the story behind this sartorial sweetheart.

This lighthearted book charts her journey from early-adopter of all things beautiful to a much-admired darling of the fashion gang, via Topshop, Vogue and her Gradmother’s wardrobe. Woven within this is the story of how she met her now-husband, and how her bold & brilliant outfits symbolised a changing approach to dating.

Medine is honest, funny and kind, with a ridiculously well-stocked closet. What’s there not to love about all that?
