Sunday Marathon Worthy TV Shows

Sunday Marathon Worthy TV Shows

There’s nothing better than sitting back on a lazy Sunday and watching some new TV shows back-to-back. Preferably with something yummy on the coffee table in front of you.

Here are our top picks for the moment.

House of Cards

Everyone loves a bit of Kevin Spacey. Especially putting on a southern accent. This is probably the best political drama out there at the moment (I do love a bit of Scandal though!). We’re now in the second season released on Netflix. Even Obama admits to loving the show. Watch it.

Scandal

Heck, while we’re on the political dramas, throw a bit of Scandal in their too. Written by Shonda Rhimes (the brains behind Grey’s Anatomy) it’s another great political drama set around Olivia Pope, a political ‘fixer’ that is also having a relationship with the President. Note boys and girls if you’re not a Grey’s Anatomy fan don’t let that put you off. It’s completely different.

Sherlock

Love me some Sherlock! I’m not a proclaimed Cumberbitch just yet but it is definitely my favourite rendition of the classic novels. Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are the perfect actors for the role and it just has the perfect mix of thriller and comedy. There’s currently three seasons each with three 90 minute episodes. Amazing.

Sons of Anarchy

I was very late to the SOA bandwagon. I’ve watched seasons 1 – 6 in the last month or two and loved every second (yes, even the Belfast season!). Not only is Charlie Hunnam a mega-babe, it’s a really interesting storyline with a lot of symbolism and a great soundtrack. By the same writer as The Shield it’s a great drama for you and your man.

Orphan Black

Orphan Black has just started airing on SBS in Australia. I’ve seen all of season 1 and it’s amazing. A Canadian drama about a girl that has been cloned in the 80’s it’s a really interesting storyline with amazing performances by Tatiana Maslany (yes, she had an extras role in Parks & Rec).

Game of Thrones

We’re about to start Season 4. If you haven’t seen season 1 to 3 already, you know nothing John Snow! Rethink your life and start watching!
