My first introduction to Digital SLR cameras was at university. I did a few semester’s of photography as part of my design degree and my entry level Canon was my best friend. Since finishing uni and honestly the improvement of phone cameras my SLR ended up sitting in the cupboard and then eventually made it’s way onto eBay.
Why? It was heavy and for my everyday life I just didn’t need all the control that it gave me. Quicker options were available where I could take and share my photos straight away and, at the end of the day I was happy with my average photos. So shoot me! (Pun intended)
Camera companies like Nikon must have picked up on these concerns because their new range of cameras have addressed quite a few. Not only are they lighter but they now also offer sync via WiFi for quicker access and a far better auto-mode for the laziest amongst us.
Now, with the Nikon 5300 you can have the best of both worlds. A simple, point and shoot when you need it and an impressive range of manual controls when you’re wanting to get your inner photographer on. The perfect travelling companion.
