As I mentioned in my Feedly post, RSS feeds are an amazing way to enjoy your favourite blogs without having to physically visit every website and also without clogging up your email.
Most blogging platforms create a an RSS feed but they don’t make it super easy to for people to subscribe to them.
You can make it easy for people to subscribe to your blog in just a few minutes though. Here’s how to set up a RSS feed for your blog, using Feedburner:
Feedburner was bought by Google a few years ago and its the leading feed generator.
You can create an account using your google/gmail email and then setup your blog in two easy steps:
1. Enter your feed URL into the ‘let us burn a feed for you’ box
This is usually whatever your URL is followed by /feed. Click Next.
2. Enter your blog’s title and your desired URL on feedburner
For example I’ve typed The Daily Mark for my blog title and TheDailyMark for my URL. This is a similar process to choosing a vanity URL for your facebook profile or page. Click Next.
How easy was that? Now you can use your feedburner URL to send visitors to your feed page listing lots of different options for subscribing (including feedly!)
It also gives you statistics on when you gain new subscribers! All the data!
